FAQ

Questions and answers regarding whistles, referee cards, and call-off procedures.

Wat is SHOT?

SHOT is the best student sports club in Tilburg. What does that mean? You play hockey with students, so you are always on a team with peers. Hockey comes first, but the third half comes in an excellent second place! There is a place for everyone at SHOT, it doesn't matter if you have never touched a stick or have played hockey in the selection all your life.

What does a hockey Sunday at SHOT look like?

During the day you can play like crazy during your own match and then cheer on other teams with a beer on the sidelines. Since SHOT is like a small village, you will quickly get to know a lot of people. Once the last matches have been played, you can enjoy a meal and drinks with your own team or with another team. Between 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM, most SHOT members head to Brandpunt, because a real third half ends in the pub! You can (hopefully) get a victory there with your team. There are regular organized activities by the association. Of course nothing is mandatory!

What do I have to do to be allowed to play at SHOT?

You can easily register online via the site! The only thing left is to purchase a sports card. You can buy this at the Tilburg Sports Center and it is also available online. With this sports card you can play hockey at SHOT, but you can also benefit from the gym, swimming pool and skating rink.

Do I also have to play matches?

You can choose that yourself! It's great fun to play matches with your team, but if you prefer to train alone or want to play hockey at home with your club during the weekend, that is certainly possible.

What are the selection procedures for the selection teams?

There are two selection moments for the selection teams. Before/during the summer break and during the winter break. If you are interested, it is always possible to come and train with us. There is an open selection policy during the year. For more information, you can send an email to technical commissioner@tshvshot.nl.

I would like to be on a committee. How does that work?

We have many great committees at SHOT, it is the ideal way to become active within the association and get to know many new people. Be sure to look under the heading 'association', sub-heading 'committees' to see what the choice is. Would you like to know more information about what the committee entails and what is involved? Send an email to secretaris@tshvshot.nl.

I'm not a referee card, what now?

If you are new to the sport and do not yet have a referee card, you can get one from us! The course is provided twice a year for anyone who does not have a referee card. If you don't have a card, you have to pay a deposit every year. The first year this is 50 euros, the second year 100 euros, and the third year 150 euros, so be sure to get your card and you will get it back at the end of the year!

I have been assigned to whistle but I don't want to or don't dare, where can I go?

If you have a whistle card, you will be assigned to whistle approximately twice a year. If you are unable to attend and no one from your team wants to exchange? Send an email to foutjerijk@tshvshot.nl. NB! Your whistle remains your own responsibility. If no one from your group can play the whistle, resolve this within your team or request whistle guidance from the board! Send an email to redactiesecretaris@tshvshot.nl

We are too few people to play our match? What now?

In the unlikely event that you have fewer than 8 people to play your match, it cannot take place. NB! The match must still be caught up at an assigned catch-up time, see the KNHB annual planning or our own annual planning via LISA under documents. To do this, send an email to secretaris@tshvshot.nl. NB! Please contact us at least 2 days in advance. During the weekend it is sometimes difficult to approach the other team, which can cause unpleasant situations.
